Put down that soda

Gents, you might want to think twice about reaching for that cold can of cola today.  Fresh on the heels of the W.H.O. report linking processed meats to higher cancer risks; comes a report from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm that links sugary drinks to an increased rate of heart disease.  According to the study, researchers followed 42,000 men for 12 years noting their daily food intake.  Those who drank two or more sweetened beverages a day had a 23% higher risk of suffering heart failure.  Bottom line, all sugary drinks are unhealthy, especially for those of us that lead sedentary lives.  “Movember” is a good a time as any to begin making lifestyle changes.
